Design Tips

Wooden Pendants add unexpected texture to any space

Every great interior needs 4 design principles: Color, Texture, Pattern and Shine. Lighting most often gives the “shine” and “color” to a room but never addresses the remaining two principles of design. What about a light fixture that addresses texture? In a design trend that favors suble contrasts, and minimal color schemes, these woven wood [...]

Mixing the old with the new

Forget throwing away grandma’s old antique mirror, give it a new life! Using antiques in your new home design is a great way to achieve any look you want. Antiques represent relics of the past, by mixing them with our modern lifestyle they remind us of how far we have come. You can change the [...]

A chair that is living?

Paris based industrial designer, Arthur Bodolec has created a conceptual furniture line called Jack Chair that, as he puts it, “comes alive” when it is used. The chair which is in the form of a box or an unbloomed flower when not used, forms different shapes when someone sits on it.

Mod pieces I love

If you know me, then you know I love mid century modern. I am sad it is becoming more and more popular. I like to keep it a secret within the design community. But then I wouldn’t be doing any of my architure forefather’s any justice.

Newsworthy Wallpaper

No surprise that the latest wallpaper sample to cross my desk generated a smile. It’s called Newsworthy, and it’s made from strips of newspaper that have been hand-loomed with nylon thread.

Design-Styles, Which One Are You?

The approaches to interior design are diverse, however, there are some broad methods to interior planning and decor that are consistent enough to be classified as specific design styles. Every person leans to one of these many styles. Some find it hard to put a name with their preference of style, so here at Interiors Nouveau we wanted to let you know the characteristics of some of the most popular ones. So when it comes to describing your taste or shopping for your home, the goals for your space can be easily accomplished by knowing exactly what your style is.

The Importance of Identity and Individualism

Each and every one of us values our unique personality, our character and our body. We do not want to blend in with the crowd. We strive to be recognized for the things we do and for who we are. So how do we relay this in our environment and in ourselves?

Simply Mirrors

Everyone has at least one mirror in their home. But what is its use? Is your mirror a simple utilitarian bathroom mirror that helps you get ready in the morning and at night? Or do you have a mirror that is a work of art in your foyer? Mirrors can be used for many purposes and have many characteristics. A mirror can help you set a tone in your room and sometimes be that missing piece that you needed but couldn’t figure out what was missing.
